Week 22 and Gender Guessing

We have officially passed the half way point! According to one of my pregnancy apps, we have 125 days to go before Baby K makes her (or his, just to be fair, but I am sure it's a girl) arrival. I swear that number was 200 just a few days ago! This pregnancy is going by so quickly! Which is a good thing because I am not a patient person and I am very anxious to meet this little troublemaker! The kicking and flipping has been getting much stronger that last week or so! Other than not sleeping well, I have been feeling really good. At my last appointment the Dr. declared my part of the pregnancy still normal. I have gained 6 lbs since the previous appointment. The baby's heartbeat was in the 150's and the doctor again had trouble getting it because the baby didn't want to sit still long enough!
22 Week Baby Bump

Week 22 compared to Week 18, yup I definitely look pregnant now!
We finally completed our baby registries last weekend - Babies R Us, Target, and Amazon.  That took a lot longer than I thought it would. Especially since Ryan is a research fanatic. There is just so much you need for a baby. And it's all soooo cute! While we were shooting for a turtle theme in the nursery, there just wasn't much stuff with turtles on it. So it is going to be more of a hodge-podge. We found the cutest little Peek-a-Boo Monster Crib set which looks more like a boy set and really doesn't go with even a plain animal theme, but I couldn't resist! It might just be me, but some of those monsters look suspiciously like my beloved food born pathogen microbes! Yes, I realize very few people would find that endearing, but y'all know I'm not normal :)

The Amazon registry was a late addition. It only has a few items that we (Ryan) couldn't find acceptable models of at Babies R Us and Target. In fact, Ryan spent 3 hours last weekend researching the baby carrier on the Amazon wish list. It also has a second diaper bag that I made Ryan pick out so he wouldn't have to carry around the super girly one that I picked out!

Here are a few more photos of things we have collected for the baby's room. I think I will post a few pictures in each blog and near the end post a picture of the whole room!
Baby K's first Ugly Doll
I really love the Ugly Dolls. They are super cute! I'm even tempted to make my own - once I finish some of the other projects I have in the works...

We got this lamp shortly after our first doctor visit. This lamp and the wall canvas that goes with it were what directed us to the Turtle/pond nursery theme. I do love my slimy-scaly creepy crawlies!

I have planned a preggo clothing shopping/girls day out trip with some of my neighbor friends. I am in desperate need of some maternity tops. The one in the pictures above is a maternity shirt, but it already doesn't completely cover my bump! And all my pre-pregnancy shirts don't even come close to covering it.

We are really looking forward to heading to NY and IL for the baby showers in April! We can't wait to see everyone!

Does anyone have any guesses on the baby's gender? I think, and a few NM peeps agree with me, that the way I am carrying this little bundle means it's a girl! Any other comments or ways to determine the gender are welcome! (Even though we have the 100% correct answer in the chromosome report, but Ryan still won't budge)

(Please note that I only include the link to the registries because several people have expressed interest in just seeing what he picked out. I am not trolling for gifts...)
